I must admit at one time in my life I was a terrible snob about my facial products. Until I learned that you absorb at least 60% of everything that you put on your skin. I quickly became the household Label Czar! Since then I have learned how to make many homemade beauty products. I have also learned that more than 75% of what I was using was completely unnecessary anyway. Silly me.
I use this face wash in the shower. I have very delicate, dry skin and this is gentle enough to get every trace of makeup and dirt out of my pores without making me shrivel up like a prune.
Homemade Hippie Face Wash
4 oz liquid Castile Soap (I use baby mild)
4 oz purified water
1 oz olive oil (or rosehip seed oil. see here)
5 drop tea tree oil
Pour into a refillable pump type bottle. Shake before use.
This recipe costs me 0.53 cents! I use tea tree oil because my skin is prone to breakouts. This keeps my skin clean as a whistle and pimple free!
