Spiced Ribs

Spiced Ribs

3 lbs pork loin back ribs

1 Tbsp chili powder

1 1/2 tsp garlic powder

1 1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp cayenne

1/4 tsp pepper

Combine spices and rub into the meat. Place bone side down in roasting pan. Bake at 350 degrees with lid for 1 1/4 hours. This spice rub is good on just about any cut of beef. Rob likes it during the summer when he’s manning the BBQ grill.

Those look delicious and I’ve been looking for a rub recipe 🙂 We’ll be trying these soon. Thanks!

The rub sounds delicious, and I have some pork ribs from a local farmer that I would love to do this to, but how much spicy heat comes through? My son isn’t keen on really spicy food (yet, it’s only a matter of time if he’s my son).

It isn’t overly hot. I like just a little spice for a main dish. The really hot stuff should be on the side. It’s not mouth-burning or anything. Give it a try and let me know what he thinks.

The verdict is in; whole family loves these! Thanks! You mentioned Rob likes this rub for the ribs on the grill-how does he grill them? I can’t wait to try them grilled.

I’m so glad you like it! I love spice rubs, they are so fun to play with.
Ok I asked the grilling expert. He said that he rubs the meat down really thoroughly with olive/coconut oil. then he massages in the rub. Then he puts the meat on the outside corners of the grill and lets them cook really slowly. We use charcoal, I’ve never used a propane grill so I can’t advise, but maybe turn the flame down low?? BBQ season is coming, I’m excited. mmmm shish ka bobs….
